Weather Changes

Hi, it's me, Gracie!
I get to talk first this time.  So, mmmm, the rain stopped and things are getting dryer around here.  But the strangest thing is happening.  Things are falling off the trees!  I thought they were butterflies, but when I caught one I found out it was a tree part.  They are falling all over the place now, and it seems to be getting colder.  The fun part is that when all the tree parts pile up together I can jump in them and roll around and it is so much fun!!
George:  Also, it makes it easier to hide and jump on Gracie.....ha!

As, I was saying....
Our lady brought us something new to wear.  I have a PINK sparkly collar and George has a Silver Grey one.  They both have little bells on them, which we are not sure we like.  It make it harder for us to sneak into the back yard.

Did you tell them we figured out how to get back in there?  I can jump high enough to get over the fence now because I am bigger and stronger and so handsome.  Don't tell anyone I said that!

I found and captured my first vole!  Our lady found the carcass in the barn.  Ok, so it was very small but then voles ARE small.  I am becoming a great hunter!!

The truth is, our lady doesn't know who found and captured the vole, George!  You are just taking the credit because I am too LADYLIKE to brag!

Rainy Days

We don't like rainy days!  Gracie doesn't like them, and neither do I!  Do you want to know why?  I'll tell you why!  When you walk in the grass your feet get all wet, and you can't lay under the Butterfly Bushes because the rain drips all over you and besides there aren't any butterflies out to catch.  So, there is nothing to do but nap on the front porch and hope that one of those fast flying bugs that HUM will slow down enough for me to get a jump!

You will have to forgive George.  I've been trying to explain that those are not bugs, but Hummingbirds, and he is much to big to jump high enough to catch one.  I, on the other hand, being sleek and nimble, stand a much better chance!  But George is right about the rainy days.  Rather boring I must admit.

Sometimes when the sun goes away and it's dark outside, Gracie and I sneak out of our barn to go exploring.  We can see pretty good in the dark and there was a big moon last night, so that made it easier.  Do you know what a "front porch" is? There is one at the house where our owner lives.  Gracie and I slept there last night. But before we went to sleep we chased each other up and down and wrestled and found some really interesting bugs and stuff.  There are some comfy chairs on the "front porch" with cushions.

This morning when we woke up, the DOG came out to play and of course George tried to snuggle with her.  I don't get it!  Here is a picture of all of us.

As you can see, I really couldn't care less about the DOG, but George can't seem to leave her alone.  She is a nice DOG I must admit.  She never barks at us or chases us around....she just smells funny!
Oh, I nearly forgot....I found a jungle!  LOOK!

Here we are just having a little snooze on our back deck.
Of course, I was the one who figured out how to get into the yard first!

See how far it is from our home in the barn!!!  And I went out all alone....
YOU DID NOT!
...well, you followed me, and I found this open place by the gate that was just big enough for me to squeeze through.  I found such wonderful things to play with in the yard.  So, I showed George how to get in and we had a great time playing under the Summersweet bushes.

Well, if you're so smart, how come we can't get in there anymore?  The open place is blocked now, but I found the butterfly bushes!

Hello!  We are George and Gracie and we live in North Carolina.  Gracie is the one with the beautiful black coat, and I am the handsome one with gray and black stripes.  They call me a "gray Tabby", but that sounds a bit feminine to me, and I really am ALL boy.  (At least for now!  I've heard rumors.)
Gracie and I are litter mates, sister and brother, and best friends.  I am so glad we found a home together.  We had another sibling, but she went to another good home.  So, Gracie and I remain together!!  We do everything together!

Hello! I am Gracie and I thought I had better get my words in here too, before George takes over completely. So far he has told you the truth, but there are a few things you should know. He is bigger than me by at least a pound! He always waits for me to do the exploring then tags along afterward. He fancies himself a great lover, and is always purring and rubbing himself all over the DOG, who lives here, too!! Can you imagine!
